  An intelligence community term for the analysis of information on foreign targets gathered from all sources, including reports from all the different collection agencies and diplomatic and consular missions abroad. This work is conducted by some central agency such as the CIA in the United States or the Joint Intelligence Committee in Britain. It is often referred to as ‘intelligence assessment’.
