consular district

 
     
  The area assigned by the receiving state to a consular post, or the consular section of a diplomatic mission, for the exercise of consular functions. The need for the designation of such districts arises when, by agreement between the sending and the receiving states, the former establishes more than one consular body within the latter\'s territory.
