An area declared by a party to a dispute to be one which its adversary\'s armed forces enter at their peril. Such declarations may well have little legal weight; but if (as is likely) the excluded party is the weaker of the two, they may have considerable effect. Such declarations were made in the Falklands War (1982), and in the 1990s in respect of parts of Iraq. |
