A synonym for the Vatican City State which is commonly found in diplomatic lists.
The government of the Roman Catholic Church, based in the Vatican City State. (The City State itself is administered by a separate body appointed by the pope.) The highest of the Holy See\'s Sacred Congregations is the Secretariat of State and within this it is the Second Section which deals with Vatican relations with foreign states. |
