Iron Curtain

 
     
  A term which was popularly used to describe the Cold War division in Europe between the West and the Eastern bloc. It had been famously used by Winston Churchill, the once and future British prime minister, in a speech in the United States (at Fulton, Missouri) on 5 March 1946.
