Refugees, Convention Relating to the Status of |

Signed at a UN conference held at Geneva in 1951, it entered into force in 1954, and has been ratified by about three-quarters of the world\'s states. Broadened by a 1967 Protocol, the Convention confers refugee status on those who find themselves in a member state and are deemed by the latter to satisfy the Convention\'s requirements. |
