roll-call voting

 
     
  A method of voting used in international organizations and conferences in which an officer calls the roll of member states, whose representatives then answer ‘Yes’, ‘No’ or ‘Abstain’ as the names are called. Latterly it has often been replaced by electronic voting. See also precedence.
