Yalta formula

 
     
  The provisions which find expression in Article 27 of the UN Charter on the voting procedure of the Security Council, including (therefore) the veto; so called because it was agreed at the Soviet Crimean resort of Yalta at a summit meeting of the Big Three (the USA, USSR, and Britain) in February 1945.
